Fusion of Fall and Winter at the Enchantments
In early October of 2016, I joined a team led by Kris Harken for a week long stay in the Enchantments. We knew the weather was sketchy going in, but decided that it was worth the risk. Our time in the Enchantments was filled with moody skies and plenty of fog and mist, along with increasing amounts of snow. All of this created some unique opportunities for compositions involving the fusion of fall and winter landscapes. On Wednesday we were able to tap into an internet hotspot at lake Vivian and learned 8 inches of snow was in the predication for later in the day with no letup in sight. Everyone was vacating the Enchantments and we joined the procession. We hiked out in one day, dropping over 6,000 feet back to our car at the Snow Lake entrance. I am so grateful to have participated in this trip and for the opportunity to capture the Enchantments in a different light and mood.
