Misty Mountain Autumn Way

In nature we are free, but somehow along the way we put ourselves in chains. Part of this is the trappings of society in which we must all live, but perhaps a larger part of this are the chains we put around ourselves through our own thoughts and actions. To me a way to rekindle the lost freedom is through connecting with nature--and what better way to do it than to follow an Autumn trail into the heart of the wilderness! This is from a late September trip to Mount Rainier National Park on a misty cloudy day. There was a silver lining, hope on the horizon, as the sun broke through the clouds brilliantly illuminating the colors of Autumn. Nature, the great healer, is so precious and worthy of our efforts to help protect her.
