A Hike in a Balsam Root Forest
This is a pretty little scene I took handheld while hiking to the top of Sauer's Mountain close to Leavenworth. The initial access to this trail starts on private property and there is only about space for 10 cars. I arrived late and took an established parking spot of someone who was leaving. But a few other cars arriving parked illegally. Also the owner has a box for donations and I did not see a single person coming or going put any money in the drop box. I wonder how long the owner will tolerate what appears to be disrespectful visitors? Needless to say I did put a contribution in the box. Hopefully the Forest Service will establish a public access point before this trail shuts down, but there is no plan for that I am aware of.
