Read MoreA Stream Flows through Paradise
"When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the universe." John Muir
While in this meadow on this early morning, I had no doubt why John Muir wrote these words. Some say every image needs a strong subject, but in a scene like this I find the strongest subject is the interrelationships between the parts and the visual flow between these parts. The beauty is in the whole, the flow, the Gestalt, and all the interrelationships. The stream flows through a meadow to a lake. The lake flows to a river and onto the sea. Everything reaches toward the mountains and sky with deep roots to the earth. It's all interrelated including my own presence in the beautiful meadow of alpine fireweed breathing the cool mountain air, feeling freshly inspired and ready to explore more and more of nature's mysteries.
This is from my three-day backpacking trip last week to Russet Lake, Garibaldi Provincial Park, BC, Canada.
