Hobbit Beach Oils

On my final day out at the Oregon Coast I hiked the Hobbit Beach Loop. There is not much in the way compelling grand landscapes here which invited me to look closer at some of the smaller scenes and details. The eroded beach bank formed a shallow cliff exposing many rock patterns and at the base natural beach oils collected. When the sun found its way to where the beach met the cliff and at just an optimal angle, the thin film of oil and water on the rocks took on the colors of the rainbow in wonderful patterns and shapes.
