Blue Heron and Turtle on a Log

When I visited the Union Bay fresh water estuary close to the UW campus, my eyes immediately gravitated to this scene. The turtle and blue heron almost seemed engaged in a kind of meditation, looking out toward tow bonsai like tree branches, where new life appeared to be rising from this old decaying log.
