Denali Polychrome River Delta Y in Monochrome
his image is a expansive telephoto panoramic perspective of the Polychrome River Delta/Moraine with Denali's Alaska Range on the horizon. Getting this image was a memorable experience. My wife, daughter and I had just boarded a bus from the end of the Park Road very early in the morning departing from Kantishna's Denali Backcountry Lodge. One can only travel this 96 mile park road on bus and private cars are not allowed. As we were descending Polychrome Pass through a series of sharp twists and turns another bus was coming up the road. Only one bus can travel this section of road at a time. Our bus pulled over toward a 2,000 foot cliff leaving only an inch or two for the other bus to get by and a few inches spacing between our bus and the cliff. During this time I hung my head and camera out through the window staring out at this stunningly beautiful scene and captured a couple of images to make this panorama! This image is best viewed on a very large screen. Thanks to Sarah Marino's B&W video and e-book tutorials for launching me off in this wonderful adventure of B&W photography and processing!
