Journey to Emerald Bay

This is Upper Eagle Falls and Lake Tahoe's beautiful Emerald Bay. I took this image around sunset as storm clouds, rain and thunder were moving into the area. Over Emerald Bay is a small rainbow. Within Emerald Bay is Lake Tahoe's only island called Fannette. I felt a major sense of excitement as all the elements of this image started to come together for a few brief moments before the light would soon pass. Just as the small rainbow made its brief appearance I took this image! Overall I was very impressed with the still wild parts of the Lake Tahoe area and I will return soon. Lake Tahoe is the largest natural alpine lake in the US and is a site to behold. This is a reprocess of an image taken a few years back.
