Thoreau's classic book Walden, or Life in the Forest, is a spiritual guide for the process for each of us to wake up to our own divine nature. Although Walden was a physical place, Thoreau wanted each of us to embark upon a journey to our own Walden Pond. This pond, a symbol for the care of the soul and self realization, can be anywhere and is most likely to physically exist close to where we are in the here and now. Ultimately Walden is beyond the physical realm, and is in the hearts and minds of each of us waiting to be discovered. In this portfolio I include many images that are representative of finding my own Walden Pond, most located in my native state Washington and the greater Pacific Northwest.
