Mystery
― Henry David Thoreau, Walden
Nothing gives me greater joy then when I am able to create an image that conveys a sense of mystery and creates an emotional response in my viewers where they too share in my experience of the wonders of nature. This gallery includes such images, most of which are from my blog post that you will also enjoy reading: Mystery the Holly Grail of Nature Photography. Here is the link to the blog post.

Secrets of the Forest
Here is what I wrote immediately after coming home to process this image:
"I made a spontaneous decision to go to Poo Poo Point on Tiger Mountain (Washington State) this morning. I raced to the top to catch the sunrise but missed it--I was greeted with this scene instead, with clouds and fog quickly moving through the forest on the foothills across the valley! I quickly took out my largest telephoto and started firing away aiming for tight compositions with patterns of fog moving through the trees. This image captured best the beauty I witnessed this morning."
Seeing this scene tapped a powerful emotional place in my psyche that provided a wellspring to create something truly imaginative that morning, not just the standard sunrise shot I was originally looking for from Poo Poo Point of Mt. Rainier.
